Queenie is a beautiful beagle girl with a tender spirit. She was among the group of dogs recently rescued from a breeder. Understandably, she can be a little nervous at first — especially when it comes to being left alone — but once she feels safe, she blossoms into a sweet and affectionate companion who absolutely lives for cuddles, chest rubs, and belly scratches. True to her beagle roots, Queenie is food-motivated, which makes training (and winning her trust) a treat-filled breeze, though she needs to be positively reminded not to steal her foster siblings' dinners! She's still working on potty training and leash manners, so Queenie’s ideal adopter will be patient, consistent, and committed to helping her continue to build confidence and routine in a calm, structured home. Due to her affectionate nature, Queenie can become a bit clingy and may try to soak up most of the human attention, which can make it tricky in a multi-dog household. She gets along well with other the other dogs in her foster home, but may do best as the only pet or with another very chill, understanding dog — and with someone who’s home often or can slowly help her feel safe when alone. She may come across as shy at first, but Queenie is truly a sweet, loyal girl with so much love to give. She will do best with a family who understands that healing takes time — and is willing to offer the reassurance, structure, and belly rubs she deserves. Could you be the steady, loving presence Queenie has been waiting for?
